RainWise is a privately owned company that started in Pennsylvania in 1974 producing a remote reading rain gauge with tipping bucket. Moving to Maine in 1981, they were pioneers in the home weather station market with their digital WS-1000 weather station.
“Today, RainWise is a proud, employee-owned company which continues to produce American-made products. The prevailing attitude of each and every employee is consistent throughout…make the best product to the best of your ability and stand behind it. The product will and always has spoken for itself…”
In this era of globalization and outsourcing abroad, RainWise take a different philosophy. Not only is final assembly carried out in Maine but every step of the production process supports small US businesses; from US plastic manufacturers to US marketing specialists.
They produce professional weather stations like the RainWise MK-III that are ideal for weather enthusiasts, government, municipalities, and industry.
On the display, some windows have options as to what is displayed; the temperature window will display either inside temperature, outside temperature, dew point or wind chill. As well as the real-time data, the Weather Oracle display records minimum and maximum values, with time of occurrence, for temperature, wind speed, relative humidity, temperature humidity index, barometer, and dew point. Two different accumulations are recorded for rainfall.
